In brief, the press-cake is used to generate power for the Estate processing facility via a separate steam-turbine facility; R&D is currently being directed toward developing press-cake into a charcoal substitute product for wide scale distribution to local communities at near-zero cost, if proven feasible.

Secondly, the press-cake is readily and with minor effort crushed and distributed as an organic agricultural fertilizer to the Out-grower community, free of charge.

As a final bonus, the above applications address and solve the considerable issue of by-product disposal, which under the processing capacities, amount to some 48,000 metric tons of press-cake per year.
